Posteo is an independent, ad-free email service from Berlin that consistently focuses on privacy and sustainability. The entire infrastructure is located in German data centers (Berlin, Frankfurt) and runs on 100% green electricity; Posteo is ISO/IEC 27001 certified, GDPR-compliant and publishes annual transparency reports. Anonymous sign-up and payment are possible. In addition to email, there is a calendar, address book and encryption (including PGP). The plan is deliberately simple at €1 per month.
Note on ownership: Independent, owner-managed Berlin company (founded in 2009 by Patrik and Sabrina Löhr), financed solely through user contributions. Anonymous sign-up and payment are possible.
